Learn to create realistic water drops in Adobe Illustrator with step-by-step instructions and techniques for adding depth and dimension to your designs.
Create a new drawing. Open the Gradient Palette. Set type to radial and change black to blue.
Using the Ellipse tool draw an ellipse.
Choose the gradient tool and click at the bottom of the ellipse and drag it until you reach the centre of the ellipse.
After that, again choose the ellipse tool and draw a small ellipse on the upper left part of the water drop.
Change its transparency to 40%.
Now you have to change the transparency of the main water drop to 45%.
Add a slight shadow to the main drop by going to Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow. The drop shadow window will appear. Set the following settings.
As the water drops don’t have perfect shape, we can alter the shape by using a wrap tool.
This is your result.
