Learn how to create a unique and eye-catching design in Adobe Illustrator CS3 by following a step-by-step tutorial on using the Distort and Transform tools to manipulate shapes and create a distorted effect.
Draw a rectangle and duplicate it. For manipulating the points use the Direct Selection tool.
Create a new layer. Using the Rectangle tool, I create a new design. Then use Pathfinders Add to Shape Area and Expand.
Make a duplicate of the original design and use it as the colour of the background piece. Create a spare copy by duplicating it and move it to the side.
Make a third copy and give the colour orange.
Choose the Blend tool and give 100 steps.
Use a gradient for the spare one and move on top. Group it and reduce the size. Move into place. For manipulation use Free Distort.
If necessary use the Rotate tool to bring some change.
